09 Jun Raising a Generation of Godly Fathers

AUTHOR: David Z. Nowell

As Father’s Day approaches, I think of our graduates—many now fathers whose lives testify to the transforming power of God’s love.

Alex is one such graduate.

Alex and Ana Paula live on a hill with an unobstructed view of Hope Mountain—the place where Alex’s life was forever changed. The last time I was in their home, I met their new son, Emanuel.

Alex shared how this was not their first child. There had been another, stillborn at birth. Alex had begged God to not let Ana Paula lose her faith.

In the midst of his own grief, that was his heart’s cry.

A godly father if there ever was one.

But Alex is only one graduate-turned-parent. There are others. Jardelho, Clayton, Bruno, Golbery… fathers teaching the next generation the truths of the Kingdom.

May it always be so.

Godly fatherhood doesn’t “just happen.” It is the result of learning by example, spiritual growth, and good choices.

Please give to Hope Unlimited today to encourage the raising up of the next generation of godly fathers. May God multiply your sacrificial gift, using it to change the trajectory of today’s young men—and tomorrow’s.
